First: Some fanart for a fandom you are probably actually familiar with!

Asterix the Asterisk

Second, a picture I think is pretty enough that even people who aren't familiar with Dragon Age might like it:

DAO: Sun and moon

This started in the style of Ivan Bilibin but ended up more in the style of Margery Gill, a completely different artist who also did illustrations for fairytales I owned as a child :) This is the third "two women who are two sides of the same coin face each other" picture I've drawn, it seems to be a thing with me.

And the rest beneath a cut (all Dragon Age) )

The Lost World, about tv writers in denial about writing sf. I don't know that I agree with all of it, but I did like:

Treat the SF in your show as a character. If the SF travels in time, then you have to close all the time loops and make a stab at having it be important to the overall narrative. If the SF makes people immortal, you have to give us the how and why and more importantly how it affects them. Just like if a person in your story got pregnant, she would eventually have to have the baby or people would be upset and confused. Do the characters get closure? Then the SF gets closure. You don't just get to drop things like they're hot because they're the SF parts so you think they don't matter.

(Of course the reverse is also true)

tommy westphall's mind A chart showing how 282 different tv shows, from Cheers to Battlestar Galactica, are all in the same universe (and that universe is just a dream in some guy's head)
