I am going on holiday next week (no reason apart from needing a break). I already have a fair amount planned (including a podiatrist appointment for this STUPID foot of mine. Excitement!) but thought I should mention it in case anyone else is free during the week and is keen to catch up. I am going to be in Nedlands on Monday for said appt, and intend on popping in to unisfa afterwards.

My weekends are already (and coincidentally) fairly busy, and I will probably want to spend the rest of the time with My Man.

Also this means I will probably put off all replying to email until Friday :)

Had an interview for permanency in my job today, I think it went pretty well from a me-expressing-myself angle: not only do I have several years experience in science communication, but by sheer coincidence had a meeting this morning where I had to explain a bunch of processes to a researcher, and so was all prepared to explain the same processes again in my interview. I'm competing against a guy whose been working at the same job for the same amount of time as me, so there's no telling if I'll actually get it, but there's another non-permanent version of the same job so it's not too scary. It's still good to have the interview off my mind. This whole adrenaline-rush hyper-explaino state (and it's resultant crash) is reminding me of why working at Scitech was so draining.
