A cheerful thought
So the main three fandoms I've really been seriously into in the transformative-works-and-blogging sense are Homestuck, Avatar: The Last Airbender/The Legend of Korra, and Dragon Age. And all three recently ended with f/f relationships happily going off into a bright future :)
I mean Dragon Age always had canon f/f, that's why I got into it, and it's not really over, but Dagna/Sera being made canon (unless you romanced Sera yourself, I guess, in which case you have a different happy f/f ship) and featuring in the ending slides to Trespasser felt significant. And I had no idea Homestuck or Avatar would go that way, as far as I can tell neither did the creators.
Homestuck and Dragon Age also had major m/m ships who had cutely happy endings, which was also great to see. Also a lot of angst and death and problematic content haha. But I love them all anyway :)

It wasn't until I played DA that it sunk in for me that I could both pursue a female love interest in a game and play a female character at the same time.
It's been such a wonderful experience that I've had zero interest in games that don't do canon f/f if relationships play a role at all.
I haven't had a chance to check out any of 'Avatar' but I've heard enough good things that I'd better get on it.

I'll still play games without canon f/f but it does really frustrate me, and games that do have it are far more likely to get my attention. See: Stardew Valley :)
Avatar is fantastic, though unfortunately the original "Avatar: the Last Airbender" series is generally (though not universally) considered the best and it's only the second series, "Avatar: the Legend of Korra", which has canon f/f right at the very end. They're both definitely worth watching though.

I hear you :). I got into Dragon Age with DAI and fell pretty hard for Leliana...even though she wasn't romancable in DAI, so of course I had to play DAO (and all this started because I was supposed to play the beginning of DAI and let my partner know if she would enjoy it. Well...let's just say that it's been nearly a year and I've played all three games several times. My partner has yet to start a character on DAI however ;). What can I say?).
I don't know if you play on the PC, but I think there's a mod for DAO that removes the gender-restrictions on the Morrigan and Alistair romances.
Also, thanks for the Avatar recommendation! I'm definitely going to check it out soon :)

Aw, that's lovely. Even though it's been bittersweet, I've loved watching Leliana's arc over the games.
For some reason I can never get mods to work on my PC, it's very frustrating. So I have taken refuge in fanworks :)

I think that's an excellent way to cope with most frustrations :)
