I'm normally very interested in relationships that blur the line between friendship and romance, but somehow that angle of the beta pairings didn't appeal to me this time. Or maybe it's the number of them. Usually when I'm positively disposed, there will be one pairing I love, and then one or two I like okay, and the rest catch my ire, especially if they feel like "pair the spares". But because this is a kids show designed to sell toys, they can't exactly dig into a discussion on the difference between romantic and platonic love.
