When I go to have my blood drawn, and it's a nurse who hasn't drawn from me before, I always start out with, "Before we start, let me warn you. My veins are very tiny and very deep, and they roll when you stick them."

This was after a time in my 20s when I went to our nearest blood-donation place, and heard one of the nurses say, "I did her last time. It's your turn now."
