I love jargon

A while ago [livejournal.com profile] distantcam and I did a joint amazon order, consisting largely of graphic novels and programming texts. Amazon just sent me an email about books that "people with my tastes" might like, and as might be expected I have no idea what the titles actually mean but find them amusing regardless.

I wonder if buying this would put us on a CIA watch list? :D

Unfortunately, I don't think it's the kind of Subversion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subversion_(software)) you think it is. It seems you share tastes with a lot of computer programmers. :)

Amazon struggles with our joint shopping habits of old musicals and horror films combined with space adventure and milfic. And maybe the odd actor or muso bio for spice.

I have the much less interestingly titled Version Control with Subversion coming at me from Amazon right now. Also a coffee book and two copies of The Wisdom of Donkeys: Finding Tranquility in a Chaotic World (http://www.amazon.com/Wisdom-Donkeys-Finding-Tranquility-Chaotic/dp/0802715931").

What I find amusing about this is that the books I did order were on the following:
- Software Management
- Regular Expressions
- Photoshop for photographers

Nothing to do with:
- Source control (Subversion)
- Open source

Actually I'm kind of impressed that configuration management got a mention at all...

Yes, I am occasionally bitter about that being skipped on projects. Why do you ask? :)

Even though it's about a versioning system, you probably would get on a watchlist. They put the Marx Brothers on watch lists because they could be Marxists.
