"In a text post, list ten fics that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” works, or even all the same pairing or fandom, just the fics that have touched you or that stuck with you somehow."

From tumblr. Chosen by going through my bookmarks and seeing which ones jumped out at me. A lot of these are VERY OLD since I have gotten harder to wow as I've read more fic. Sixteen not ten because don't make me chooooose. And yes there is a suprsing amount of Stargate considering I don't actually like the canon, when I first got into fic that was what I encountered the most of and the fandom produced a wide range of interesting stuff. (Also lots of robots which should not be surprising at all)

This is not my favourite fic in the world, but it is the one that hits the most number of my narrative kinks at once and for that it will always be special.

Title: Male Bonding
Author: [ profile] peri_peteia and [ profile] ali_wildgoose
Pairing: Mentions of Sokka/Suki and Mai/Zuko
Rating: PG-13
Summary: As much as she intensely dislikes it, Katara understands why Zuko had to join them. What she doesn't understand is why he and Sokka have to spend every waking moment in each other's company.
Notes: Spoilers for "Day of Black Sun."

I'm not sure why this stuck with me, maybe just because I read it while in the first rush of infatuation with ATLA. But it's cute and fun.

Title: Changeling
Author: [ profile] lydiabennet
Summary: Fred wants a dog more than anything, and he'll do anything to get one. Anything at all.
Rating, Length: PG, 2060 words
Author's notes: Speculates on how much magic wizarding children can perform; I'm assuming that Fred, being Fred, is a bit precocious, and not always pleasantly so. No dogs were harmed in the making of this fic; I did, however, harm four lines from SS/PS by shamelessly stealing them and putting them to uses they were never intended to serve. Written for [ profile] jamie2109 and [ profile] nocturnali's AWDT challenge.

This stuck with me because it creeped me out.

Only fic I've read which captures Fallen London's unique style.

I'd forgotten that Harry Potter 'verse one. Creepy indeed.

I'm guessing I've read the SGA ones, but I'm off to look at them, Just In Case.

most of the rest I'll probably not look at - I actively avoid Homestuck and new Sherlock Holmes, and I'm not up to new fandoms today.

very pleased to have gone back to some of them - turns out that one I'd read previously has follow ups I wasn't aware of (the John and Mitch were robots one).

I should probably do one of these, but finding the ones that really hit my buttons would be tricky, because my filing system sucks (and hasn't been well maintained). And there is porn in there, and I'm not sure I'm all that comfortable with listing that.
